OHN is about leveraging existing and expanding thought leadership, technology, support services and relationships - together - to improve the quality, delivery and access to quality health care, regardless of location. And while our central charter is to serve that of Oregon, if our vision is to become a reality, it will require care to be delivered and coordinated beyond the scope of borders. In essence, an integrated national health care delivery system of which we connect to and serve.

Therefore, the development of innovative strategic partnerships and programs that encourage the public/private coordination and integration of health care is as critical to the value and viability of OHN as the broadband infrastructure we're building from.

From our humble beginnings, OHN has received the generous and innovative support of multiple state agencies, leaders and innovators including, but not limited to:

• Governor's Office
  • Health Information Technology Oversight Council (HITOC); that is overseeing the design and implementation of our state's first health information exhange (HIE)
• Oregon Department of Education & the High Desert Education Service District
• Department of Human Resources & the Oregon Health Authority
• The Department of Community College & Workforce Development

As OHN works to connect several state health care provider facilities to the State Data Center, the opportunity to truly impact and experience the benefits of patient-centered integrated health care in Oregon will have officially begun.

OHN is Oregon's Network: how can it be fully leveraged to serve all of Oregon?

Outside of the direct benefits of connecting Oregon's health care providers to one another with a scalable, robust broadband network, the benefits of OHN can exceed our core services offering. For example, as the OHN membership expands across all the variety of provider types and regions, OHN's network and provider base infrastructure is well positioned to better support the regional and statewide public emergency and disaster response coordination efforts.

OHN is a state resource, and therefore committed to serve the needs of all Oregon. Therefore, we always welcome suggestions as to how we can better support the State and Federal strategies and resources to serve the greatest common good.
